Dewey Dell
Dewey Dell was formed in 2007 by the young artists Teodora, Demetrio and Agata Castellucci and Eugenio Resta. All graduates of the Stòa school of rhythmic movement and philosophy in Cesena, Italy, the four members focus their individual strengths and skills on specific aspects of the work while staying open to collective decisions. Teodora choreographs the movement, Demetrio composes the music, Eugenio designs the lights and Agata assists with the choreographic creation. Since 2007 Dewey Dell has created seven performances that have been presented in major festivals around Europe as well as in Australia, Russia and the U.S.A. Their last work ›Marzo‹ created in collaboration with the Japanese visual artist Yuchi Yokoyama and the theatre director Kuro Tanino, premiered in Graz at the Steirischer Herbst Festival and had its Italian premiere at the Biennale Danza di Venezia 2014. Dewey Dell was part of the project Fies Factory/Centrale Fies from 2008 to 2013 and from 2013 is part of APAP (Advancing Performing Arts Project). The name ›Dewey Dell‹ is a tribute to the writer William Faulkner and the same named young girl in his novel ›As I lay dying‹.
