Marco Goecke
... was born in 1972 in Wuppertal. Following his dance training in Cologne, Munich and the Hague, he was engaged as a dancer in Berlin and Hagen. He created his first choreography in 2000 and since then has shown his work at numerous international festivals. In June 2002 he was invited by the "Choreographic Institute New York" ("Diamond Project") to choreograph a ballet with the dancers of the New York City Ballet. In 2004 he created a solo for "Peter Boal & Company" which was shown at the Joyce Theatre on Broadway and at the Jacob's Pillow Festival. With "Blushing" he won the first prize at the international choreographic competition "PRIX Dom Pérignon 2003" in Hamburg. His newest piece Mopey can be seen in October 2004 in Wuppertal during the festival Tanztheater - 3 Wochen mit Pina Bausch.
