Pieter Ampe & Jakob Ampe / CAMPO
Jakob Ampe ( born 1980) studied jazz singing and logopaedics. He’s singer of the rock band The Germans. In 2008 their debute album received very favourable reviews in Belgium. In 2009, The Germans were invited to create a performance for De Nachten in Antwerp, which they developed together with dancers Pieter Ampe and Eun Kyun Lee. In 2011, Jakob Ampe participated in the performance Chicago Songbook by composer Thomas Smetryns.Pieter Ampe ( born 1982) grew up in Ghent where from 1990 to 2001 he took part in several theatre workshops at the Speeltheater, now known as the Kopergietery. In 2002-2003, he studied at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance. During his training for the two P.A.R.T.S. cycles in Brussels from 2004-2008 he created the solo performances On Stage (2006) and Still Difficult Duet (2007) together with Guilherme Garrido. With Simon Mayer he presented the duet O feather of lead (2008). Since 2008 Pieter Ampe is one of the dancers in The Song by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker & Rosas. Since 2009 he is artist in residence at CAMPO. Here he created, together with Guilherme Garrido, the duet Still Standing You (2010.
