Simonne Rorato
… was born in Porto Alegre Brazil where she studied classical ballet and modern dance. She was a soloist and choreographic assistant with the "Terra CIA De Danca" Company that she founded in 1981. She went on to dance with the "Sao Paulo City Ballet" (1985) and "Bahia Ballet" (1987/88) before accepting an invitation in 1988 to join "Tanztheater Christine Brunel" in Essen where she was a soloist until 1991. During this stay in Germany she choreographed works including "The Night of Wiseman", "Kreislaufen" and "Das Rechte Auge". She then returned to Brazil and was appointed choreographic assistant and assistant to the director of the Bahia Ballet Company. This year (2000) she has created two new works in Germany, "Briefwechsel" and "Chun", both in collaboration with the dancer and choreographer, Sayonara Pereira. The "Solo w dialogu - Solo in dialogue" project is directed and co-ordinated by Simonne Rorato.
