Wayne McGregor
Wayne McGregor studied dance at University College Bretton Hall and the José Limón School in New York. In 1992 he founded Random Dance and was subsequently appointed choreographer in residence at The Place. His work for Random has led to critically acclaimed national and international tours and invitations to choreograph for opera, theatre, television and film, in galleries and public spaces, and for other dance companies including the Rambert Dance Company, ENB, The Royal Ballet, the Gothenberg Ballet and the New York City Ballet. Wayne McGregor courts complexity in his work with dance that is fast, bizarre, intricate, and physically challenging. McGregor has collaborated regularly as a teacher and choreographer with PACT Zollverein since 1999. In 2004, he received the Dance Award for best choreography for AtaXia which was co-produced by PACT Zollverein.
