PACT’s WerkStadt, in cooperation with Essen’s Arbeitskreis Kunst & Soziales, invited people to a neighborhood party by and for Katernberg. Over 30 social organizations, local clubs, cultural institutions, and active citizens from that district and beyond showcased the beauty of Katernberg and transformed the small stream at the Freie Schule into a place of celebration, exchange, and relaxation.

Visitors enjoyed a late summer day right on their doorstep and went home with wonderful memories: they picnicked on the grass, loosened up on the parkour course, or won prizes on a treasure hunt. They strolled through the flea market, debated at a »democracy table«, or went on a bike tour to the climate festival at Zeche Carl and back. All of this and more awaited them at the neighborhood party. Not to mention a variety of snacks and refreshments, as well as numerous cultural activities that were explored.

In the evening, the party was rounded off with a live concert on the meadow, where the audience enjoyed non-alcoholic cocktails while lounging on deckchairs. It was the perfect finale for a wonderful day.
