Anne Nguyen / Compagnie par terre
Choreographer Anne Nguyen first studied physics before she discovered breakdance and began performing with groups such as RedMask and Phase T, Def Dogz and Créteil Style. Nguyen won the ›Battle of the Year‹ several times and was world champion in breakdancing before she increasingly dedicated herself from 2005 onwards to investigating and sublimating the virtuoso movement patterns and culture of hip hop. By 2017, she had created ten works that brought the explosive and raw movement vocabulary of hip hop together with a graphical, pure, de-structured choreographic expression. In 2018, Anne Nguyen began a new cycle of works focusing on collaborations with exceptional dancers from a wide background of styles including ballet, contemporary and urban dance.
Together with her company par Terre, Anne Nguyen has shown her work worldwide at renowned festivals such as the ›Holland Festival‹ (Amsterdam), ›Tanz im August‹ (Berlin), ›Crossing The Line‹ (New York), ›OzAsia Festival‹ (Adelaide), ›URB Festival‹ (Helsinki), ›Dies de Dansa Festival‹ (Barcelona) and ›Festival d’Avignon‹ as well as at major international venues including NorrlandsOperan (Umeå), Dansens Hus (Stockholm), Dansehallerne (Copenhagen), Tanzquartier Wien (Vienna), KVS (Brussels), tanzhaus NRW (Düsseldorf) and Sadler’s Wells (London).
Anne Nguyen presents the German premiere of her latest work ›À mon bel amour‹ at PACT.
