Barbara Cleff
... born 1961 in Wuppertal, studied at the Folkwang Academy in Essen and at the dance academies in Arnheim and Rotterdam. In 1988 she co-founded the "Danswerkplaats Arnhem" where she worked as a choreographer, dancer and administrator. She began her teaching career in 1988 in the Netherlands. Since then she has taught regularly for numerous private and public dance and educational organisations in Germany, The Netherlands and Switzerland. Between 1996 and 2000, she was choreographic assistant to a.o. Susanne Linke, Urs Dietrich and Joachim Schlömer and, in 1999/2000, worked as assistant director, choreographer and movement coach on several productions at the Theaterhaus in Jena. Her own more recent choreographies include LA PALOMA, created for 23 senior citizens at the Stadttheater Basel, and TERRITORY-ECHOES, created in collaboration with vocalist, U. Wassermann, for the "Theater in Bewegung" Festival at the Theaterhaus in Jena.
