Claudia Lichtblau
Claudia Lichtblau (D) studied at the Folkwang Academy Essen and was for many year’s a dancer and choreographer with the Folkwang Tanzstudio Company. Here she created her first solo and ensemble pieces and also began her long term collaboration with the dancer Matthias Hartmann. She later created projects with artist and choreographer, Chandralekha, in Madras, India and was a guest dancer with Pina Bausch’s Wuppertaler Tanztheater.As a freelance artist since 1990, she has concentrated on researching possibilities and methods of (physical) theatre outside of conventional theatre bounds and has staged projects and performances in former industrial buildings and spaces. In 1991 she discovered the Zeche Zollverein colliery in Essen and, to date, has created a cycle of 13 works at this location including ›Arktisches Triptychon. Projektionen für zwei Personen‹ and ›Anthropologoi. Szenisches Geschehen für einen Solisten und Apparaturen‹, both developed and premiered at PACT Zollverein.
