Decoder Ensemble
The Decoder Ensemble, founded in 2011 in Hamburg, has been impressing with projects between musical performance and multimedia staging for many years. The formation, based on electronic and acoustic instruments, is known for its characteristic, energetic sound, which clearly stands out from the sound of conventional chamber music. In cooperation with international festivals and renowned performance venues such as the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg or the Festspielhaus Dresden-Hellerau, Decoder has realized numerous premieres, such as ›Entities‹ (concept: Heinrich Horwitz) ›Genesis‹ (concept: Alexander Schubert), or ›The Followers of ø‹ (concept: Trond Reinholdtsen / The Norwegian Opra). Together with IRCAM, Centre Pompidou (Paris) and Kampnagel Hamburg, the world premiere of Alexander Schubert's ›Anima™‹ could be realized in 2022.
