Erik Sick was born in 1967 in Freiburg and studied theatre, film and television at Cologne University. He trained as a cameraman and has worked as a freelance filmmaker and cameraman for various broadcasting and video production companies on news, documentary and image films. He currently works as a freelance video artist.
