Inke Arns
Inke Arns (DE) born in 1968 in Duisdorf near Bonn, is a curator and author specializing in media art, network cultures and Eastern Europe. She has been artistic director of the Hartware MedienKunstVerein (HMKV) in Dortmund since January 2005. She studied Eastern European studies, Slavonic studies, political science and art history in Berlin and Amsterdam. She presented her PhD paper “Objects in the mirror may be closer than they appear: Die Avantgarde im Rückspiegel” in 2004 at the Institute for Slavonic studies at Humboldt University Berlin. Inke Arns began working as a curator in the 1990s, organising various exhibitions and conferences on international media art. She has published numerous exhibition catalogues and co-founded various networks and groups involved in media culture. She regularly publishes on subjects related to media art and network culture.
