From 1980 to 1990 he studied at the Kunstakademie Dusseldorf under Prof. Norbert Kricke and Prof. David Rabinowitch and was a master class pupil of Rabinowitch in 1985. Jörg Steinmann collects images and sounds and incorporates his methods of collecting them in his video and performance works.
