Lenard Schmidthals
Musician Lenard Schmidthals (D) studied electric bass at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg on the Popular Music Studies course and at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts/ USA as well as composition also at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg.Since 1990 Schmidthals works as an independent musician in Hamburg. As instrumentalist, arranger, composer, conductor and producer, he has worked with diverse groups including Subway to Sally, Revolverheld, Udo Lindenberg, Die fantastischen 4, Heinz Rudolf Kunze and Fury in the Slaughterhouse.
In addition to this, he has created music for film and television productions including ›Knocking on heaven´s door‹ (film 1997). Since 2002 he also works in theatre. In 1994 he was awarded the German Music Prize ECHO.
