Leslie Mannès
... born in 1982 in Brussels, began training at P.A.R.T.S. in 2000 and in 2002 continued her contemporary dance studies at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance. As a student she developed an interest in choreography and participated in the Festival C'est du Jamais Vu! in Brussels (2002). Szene Salzburg supported her two most recent projects Le profil des ombres (2004) and Delusive Figures (2005). In June, she participated in Sommerszene 05's Performance Lab, which explored the interface between performance and visual art.During their residency at PACT Zollverein, Manon Santkin and Mannès look into issues of representation, copying, cloning, individuality and - what they call 'the paradox of a copied singularity'. One of their focuses is on clothes: Bodies inside clothes, clothes around bodies, clothes as bodies, bodies as fabric and material. Inspired by the performance works of Vanessa Beecroft, Manon and Leslie aim to work with a certain economy of action.
