Melanie Mohren/ Bernhard Herbordt

Melanie Mohren (1979) and Bernhard Herbordt (1978) both studied at the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies, Giessen. They have collaborated together since 1999 on interdisciplinary projects, installations and sound installations, works for radio, theatre and site-specific-environments. Between 2001 and 2004 their works created include: the award-winning radio piece looking for a small story, the audio-theatre world in a box, the installations alibi n and placebo square, as well as Kapital N.N. - a theaterhommage for one actor and electronics. Herbordt / Mohren projects have been shown at the following festivals and venues: Diskurs-Festival, Hessische Theatertage, Die Wüste Lebt - Festival, Plateaux Festival, ITs Festival Amsterdam, Festival junger Talente Offenbach, Feuer und Flamme - Kampnagel Hamburg, Berliner Zimmer (HAU). Funded by a scholarship from the Film Foundation NRW they finished the radio piece City Levels in July 2004, with a second scholarship they will be able to realize their new radio piece Niemandsland in 2006. Most recently Herbordt / Mohren presented their dissertation project Patent: Night Flight at Künstlerhaus Mousonturm in Frankfurt. At the moment, Herbordt / Mohren are working on their new production wonderland for this year's Freischwimmer Festival, taking place in Berlin, Hamburg, Zurich and Dusseldorf. During their residency at PACT Zollverein they will start rehearsals for Doppelspiel, to be premiered in 2006.
