The choreographer and dancer, Mui Cheuk Yin, was educated in Hong Kong where she studied classical and folkloristic dance. In 1985, she won a scholarship to study modern dance in New York. Since then she has almost exclusively concentrated on choreographing but still teaches subjects such as contact improvisation.Her work has been performed worldwide including at the Hawaiian East and West Center and at the American Dance Festival. She has made guest appearances in Belgium, Lisbon, London and in Wuppertal where she took part in the festival marking Pina Bausch's Tanztheater jubilee year in 1998
