Nature Theater of Oklahoma
The performance group Nature Theater of Oklahoma takes its name from an itinerant theater group in Kafka's novel ›Amerika‹. Founded in 2002, the New York based ›Off-Off-Broadway‹ company has enjoyed tremendous success with its experimental works in both the USA and Europe and has been awarded numerous prizes including the Obie Award (Off-Broadway Theater Award). Lead by Pavol Liska and Kelly Copper, the group has developed a highly individual style of interpretation that seeks to affect a shift in the perception of everyday reality by using readymade materials, found space, overheard speech and observed gesture. Following the productions ›Romeo and Juliet‹ and ›Chorègraphie‹ Nature Theater of Oklahoma are currently working on the ten part project ›Life and Times‹. Parts three and four of this series premiered in January 2012 at the Burgtheater in Vienna.
