After training at the Het Stedelijk Instituut voor Ballet in Antwerp, Paul Melis danced with Maurice Béjart's Ballet du XXe Siécle in Brussels, the City of Cologne Opera, Tanzforum Cologne and the Rambert Dance Company.He lived and worked for twenty years in London, teaching nationally and internationally for numerous schools and companies. Between 1992 and 1997, he was the artistic director of the Palucca School in Dresden and the Legat School in England. In 1997, he was appointed professor of classical dance at the Cologne Music Academy where, since then, he now directs the dance department.
