Philippe Blanchard
... was born in 1968 in Neuilly-sur-Seine and studied danced from 1978-1984 at the Conservatoire National de Musique et de Danse da La Rochelle in France. He started his performing career as a member of the Jeune Ballet de France Company and went on to work with the Nederlands Dans Theater (1985-1989), Ballet du Grand Théatre de Genève (1989-1990), Batsheva Dance Company (1990-1991) and The Cullberg Ballet (1991-1994). He choreographed his first own work "Brittle Thoughts" (Premiere Moderna Dansteatern) in 1993. Since then he has made pieces for international theatres and festivals including "Les éveillés"(House of Dance, Stockholm), "b" (1995, Moderna Dansteatern), "Staring At The Space" (Louis de Geer Concert Hall, Norrköping), "Within Shortly" (1996, Dorot/Israel) "Etienne (wrapped in a paradox)" (1996, Szaged/Hungary), "Transes Formations" (House of Dance), "Kkaboomm!!" (Folkets Hus), "Air Bag" (1998, Boras Stadsteater), "Virgule" (1999, Folkets Hus), "Noodles" (2001, Swedish Dance Biennale) and "Qui pro Quo, in extent of seats" (2002, TANZTheaterINTERNATIONAL).
