Regina van Berkel
Regina van Berkel trained at the Nederlands Danstheater under the direction of Ivan Kramer and at the Rotterdamse Dansacademie in the Netherlands. Already a highly regarded dancer with William Forsythe's Frankfurt Ballet, she first captured the public's eye as a choreographer in 1998 with her highly successful solo "Come un bel di di maggio" created for the Holland Dance Festival in The Hague. Since then she has worked regularly as a freelance choreographer, most recently for "Freiburg Ballett Pretty Ugly". Regina van Berkel's and Dietmar Janeck's collaborative work is fundamentally shaped by interwoven elements of dance, slide projections and video. Dance, although very much in the foreground, blends seamlessly with the atmosphere created through image and sound.
