Richard Povall
... is a multidisciplinary composer, researcher, and educator, currently Director of the Division of Contemporary Music at the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music (Ohio, USA). He has recently been appointed as the Senior Fellow at ResCen at Middlesex University (UK). His research and performance work concentrates on small-scale and solo work using a variety of interactive media, and on new uses of interactive technology in performance environments. His long-time collaborator is writer and performer, Jools Gilson-Ellis, together they form the company half/angel. Current projects include The Secret Project, a co-production of the Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada, and the Firkin Crane in Cork, Ireland.
