Sven Seegers
... studied classical and contemporary dance at the Ballet Rambert School in London and at the Folkwang Academy in Essen. He has had engagements as a dancer with the Städtischen Theater Chemnitz under the artistic directorship of Hermann Rudolph and Brigitta Preuß and with the Ismael Ivo Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart / DNT Weimar and has performed in productions directed by Johann Kresnik, Gerald Thomas, Lothar Baumgarten and George Tabori. He has also worked with directors and choreographers including Daniela Kurz, Jaqueline Davenport, Christoph Loy, Isabelle Schad, Felix Ruckert, Julie Bougard and Susanne Lietzow (acting). Since 1997 Sven Seegers creates his own work in the fields of dance as well as drama and musical theatre. Having taught at the Mendelssohn Bartholdy Academy from 1996-1999, he now teaches at various institutions including Dock11 Berlin, the MAD Centre Bucharest/Goethe Institut Inter Nationes and ASBL TAMAT. He regularly gives workshops for the Michaelstein Foundation & Music Academy Wittenberg and, since 2000, is artist in residence at Dock11.
