Teresa Ranieri
… born 1966 in Bari, Italy, trained at the "Scuola del Teatro Piccinni di Bari", the "Lyceum Mara Fusco" and the "Ecole International de Danse Rosella Hightower" in Cannes.Since 1988 she's danced in Germany with companies in Würzburg, Darmstadt, and Saarbrücken. In 1994 she joined the "Tanzwerk Nürnberg" under the direction of Dirk Elvert and Jean Renshaw where she worked with choreographers including Roberto Galvan, Jenny Coogan, Rik Kam, Diane Elshout and Frank Händler, Amanda Miller, Rui Horta and Jacopo Godani.
In 1998 she followed Dirk Elwert and Jean Renshaw to the Theater Dortmund and in 1999 danced with Ballett Linz under the direction of Robert Pool. As a freelance teacher she's taught for the Tanzwerk Nürnberg, Tanz Theater Irina Pauls in Leipzig, Oldenburg and Heidelberg, Staatstheater Schwerin, Kölner Tanz Agentur, Ballett Dortmund, Landestheater Linz, Ballett Nordhausen, Tanzhaus Düsseldorf, Stadttheater Giessen and Norddans (Sweden).
In October 2001 she qualified as a certified teacher of the Gyrotonic Expansion System (White Clouds) Her teaching combines her varied dance experience, from classical to contemporary, with her knowledge of different body awareness techniques such as Rolfing, Alexander and Gyrotonic.
