An ›encore‹ (from the French word meaning ›again‹) is an additional performance of a musical piece at the end of a concert. Encore also sounds like ›en corps‹, literally ›in body‹ or more freely ›embodiment‹ or ›penetration‹. Fascinated, not only by movements themselves, but by the way movements transfer from one particular body, story, time or context to another, Vincent Dunoyer has invited five dancers to reenact his own repertory as a performer in numerous dance pieces choreographed by, amongst others, Steve Paxton, Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, Wim Vandekeybus and Raimund Hoghe. ›Encore‹ thus represents a double change of perspective: While the dancers take on Dunoyer's parts as a performer, he takes on the role of the choreographer reorganising, juxtaposing and contrasting the various materials in time and space and creating unexpected links and poetic associations.
