Field Works - Office

In their intimate and playful ›Field Works‹ performances, Heine Avdal and Yukiko Shinozaki are looking for the poetry in everyday life. “Field Works-office” is a location-based project, which unravels the conventions of non-theatrical spaces: At PACT Zollverein it takes us behind usually closed doors into the everyday office reality of PACT’s project managers, press and public relations department and executive director. Together with sound artist Fabrice Moinet and comic book artist/performer Brynjar Åbel Bandlien, Avdal and Shinozaki, create with small shifts in reality dreamy, absurd in-between worlds for just two spectators at a time: Through the use of multimedia, sound displacements and cartoon like drawings, “Field Works-office” stimulates our imagination and exposes small cracks in our otherwise seemingly everyday surroundings.

»This performance succeeded in ›turning around‹

our ordinary world for just one moment. Oh, yes.«
