Beursschouwburg
Friendly Takeover
Never seen a Belgian?
Grab your chance!
Beursschouwburg – an arts centre in the heart of Brussels – takes the bus towards Essen. They’re bringing a small group of artists and an enthusiastic audience with them.
Beursschouwburg takes PACT Zollverein over for a weekend. We (=> Beursschouwburg) are organizing a festive weekend in Essen, just like we do at the start of every new programme. It’s a weekend where we celebrate art in all its forms and guises (performance, film, music, visual arts). You don’t have to drive all the way to Brussels to get to know us, come along to PACT Zollverein for a two-day Belgian event where light-hearted competition, festivity, new encounters and craziness are all part of the fun. The Belgian names eagerly awaiting the German scene: the queen of metamorphosis Miet Warlop (Mystery Magnet, performance), the king of failure Feiko Beckers (Deadpan and Disco, performance), music by the Belgian bands Dans Dans and STUFF and German musicians Felix Kubin and James Pants, video by Olivia Rochette and Gerard-Jan Claes (Because we are Visual) and a real Beursschouwburg exhibition with work by SPIN, L’amicale de Production, Pieterjan Ginckels and Jóhanna Kristbjörg Sigurðardóttir. All the artists are in one way or the other linked to the Beursschouwburg.
For those who don’t want to go home, there’s an indoor campsite available: where even German snorers with moustaches are welcome.
