Not all children are fortunate enough to enjoy a great start in life, and nor do they grow up with the same opportunities. This is reflected in things like pocket money and clothing, in choices of schools and summer holiday destinations, in housing and career options. But why is this? Verena Brakonier explores possible obstacles in her play ›LEBENSLAUF‹ (CURRICULUM VITAE) with the young audience, and asks what needs to change to make both social surroundings, and the world as a whole, fairer.

The dancer and dramatist grew up in her parents’ car factory. She uses her art to fight against classism - that is, against prejudice and  the discriminatory treatment of those with less money and fewer educational opportunities. Her new piece is a mixture of dance, theatre and videos featuring her own experience and invented stories.
