NUMBER STATIONS & HAPPY DAYS
- Performance Dance
›Number Stations‹ & ›Happy Days‹ are the two latest projects from the British choreographer Charles Linehan. ›Number Stations‹, set to music composed by Robert Merdzo, is based on short wave radio recordings of voices reading sets of phonetic letters or numbers in different languages which are transmitted on illegal frequencies and suspected to be connected to espionage activities. ›Happy Days‹ is a new group work inspired by music from the Sonic Youth band member, Jim O'Rourke.
»Impressive, intelligent, thought-provoking choreography. Submerged in ambiguity, Charles Linehan's subtle, atmospheric dances thrive on implication, on the elusive emotional undercurrents of human interaction.« Time Out
