Vincent Dunoyer / ROSAS
SISTER

  • Sat 20.10.07 20 h

Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker performs the solo Sister created for her in a complex multi-layered working process by former Rosas dancer, Vincent Dunoyer. Inspired by Fumiyo Ikeda, Dunoyer compiled a scenario out of the initial poses of all the choreographic works she has ever danced. He then asked other past and present Rosas dancers to develop choreographic phrases to thread these fragmented poses into a new study for himself and subsequently De Keersmaeker to freely transcribe and interpret.

Sister elaborates on the theme first seen in Cadavre Exquis (2005). This performance arose out of a group concept: Dunoyer took photos of himself in specific poses and asked students from P.A.R.T.S. to choreograph phrases of movement between these snapshots. He fused these short choreographic passages into a single whole, which he then danced.
