Philipp Gehmacher

We wait, we part, we restart. We walk into battlefields eyes wide shut, we overlook, we regret, we were upset, we had no cause but reasons. We loved the sons, but forgot the fathers, we touched and traced, we measured our existence by meeting our limits. We will be three, we were two, we are one, we are the world, we are not we. We venture into a landscape of consequences, we insist and persist. We sail and steer, we aspire and expire. We walk backwards into our future, we turn away, we failed to stay longer, we got near.

The title of Gehmacher’s new trio, like there’s no tomorrow , alludes to the carefree kind of life in which one refuses to think about what is yet to come, but also speaks of anxiety in the face of loss and a world that seems too much to handle.
