Urban research commonly examines segregation along the lines of social, demographic and ethnic indicators. Unequal distribution of educational resources and opportunities is also a significant factor.

What supporting roles can art and cultural institutions such as PACT Zollverein and the Folkwang University of the Arts, which recently opened a new campus in the north of Essen, play in this context? How can urban development be met with new perspectives?

As part of the exhibition Wem gehört die Stadt  (Who owns the City) from 06.10. - 25.10.2018, the WerkStadt is organising a panel discussion around this topic with Katja Stuke, Prof. Klaus Wermker & Prof. Dr. Kai Vöckler on Thursday 11.10.2018.

The exhibition with photographic works by Julius Barghop, Eleni Kritikos, Katharina Ley, Bardiya Tahani & Leif-Erik Schmitt is open during 06. - 25.10.18, TUE - FRI (10 - 16 H)
