The Yalda Night is the night of the winter solstice, hence the longest night of the year. It is celebrated as a festival. This additional minute of the night is taken as an opportunity to pause and spend it together in community. The focal points are hope and optimism, believing that after darkness, light always follows, even if the time until then seems long.

At the WerkStadt, we invite all interested individuals to celebrate Yalda together and learn about the rituals and foods associated with it. The dish Ash Reshteh, pomegranates, watermelons, nuts, and dried berries are traditionally part of it. Together, we'll read poems, cook, and eat. Those celebrating the festival for the first time will learn »How to Yalda!«
