YOU’VE CHANGED
- German Premiere
- Performance Dance
Thomas Hauert’s Cie ZOO is a group of independents who together practise the most intelligent, most sensitive, funniest, most surprising, bravest, most virtuoso and most political form of dance that I’ve seen for a long time. Katja Werner, ballet-tanz Jahrbuch 2009 Thomas Hauert and ZOO’s new piece is a continuation of their work on the relationship between music and dance. In ›You’ve changed‹ the movement was created in advance of the music, however, and the inherent musicality of the dance serves as a template for the score, commissioned from the renowned musician Dick van der Harst. The music reacts to the movements on stage that the group are constantly re-creating and improvising through continual intuitive communication, and so establishes a wealth of two-way connections between what the audience hears and what they see. What’s more, ›You’ve changed‹ shows the interaction between filmed-movement that is projected during the performance and the live-movement of the performers, as well the movement of the camera and the lights.
