Hermann Heisig

Hermann Heisig, born 1981 in Leipzig, took place in the competition ›Das beste Tanzsolo‹ (The Best Dance Solo) for the first time in 1997 during the euro scene leipzig, thus shifting his focus to a career in dancing. Numerous improvised solos in Leipzig galleries and clubs followed.Since 2000 Hermann has been residing in Berlin, where he completed professional training in dance at Der Etage, working with Diana Wesser, Nir de Volff, and Anja Müller, to name just a few. In 2007 Hermann Heisig participated in ex.e.r.ce 07, a seven-month-long retreat programme for choreography at CCN Montpellier, France, under the direction of Mathilde Monnier and Xavier le Roy.

Moreover, Heisig has worked as a dancer with Meg Stuart/Damaged Goods in ›Die Massnahme/ Mauser‹ and ›All Together Now‹ as well as in ›Profit and Loss‹ by Martin Nachbar and Martine Pisani (2009). In 2008 the duet ›PONGO LAND‹ took form in cooperation with Nuno Lucas. This dancing collaboration continued as part of the European ›looping‹ project with ›WHAT COMES UP/ MUST GO UP‹ in August 2009. And for the fall of 2009 Hermann Heisig was invited by Meg Stuart for CONNECTIONS to create a new piece.
