Marco Donnarumma
Marco Donnarumma is an artist, performer, stage director and scholar who has been weaving together contemporary performance, new media art and interactive computer music since the early 2000s. He manipulates bodies, creates choreographies, engineers machines and composes sounds, thus combining disciplines, media and technology into oneiric, sensual, uncompromising aesthetic experiences. He is internationally acknowledged for his solo performances, stage productions and installations that defy genres and employ the human body as a fluid and transformative medium, enabling critical exploration of themes such as ritual, power dynamics, and technology.
He’s a co-founder of the performance group Fronte Vacuo. Donnarumma’s work has been shown at venues and festivals including the Volkstheater Wien, Münchner Kammerspiele, Romaeuropa Festival, Ming Contemporary Art Museum, Chronus Art Center, Ars Electronica, Donaufestival, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, NRW Forum, Nemo Biennale/HeK Basel, LABoral, musikprotokoll, CTM Festival, tanzhaus nrw, Laznia Center for Contemporary Art.
