Philippe Quesne
Philippe Quesne was born in 1970 and studied visual arts and graphic design in Paris. He has designed for opera, concerts, theatre performances and contemporary art exhibitions. In 2003, he created Vivarium Studio in Paris, a laboratory for theatrical innovation which features painters, actors, dancers, musicians and Hermès the dog. Quesne’s work transforms ordinary rituals and everyday simple actions into small ceremonies which are both ridiculous and dreamlike, playful and melancholic, serious and entertaining.His acclaimed production ›La Mélancolie des Dragons‹ has been presented at numerous festivals including the Impulse Festival 2009, the Wiener Festwochen, the Sommerfestival auf Kampnagel and the Avignon Theatre Festival.
