Rasmus Ölme was born in Sweden in 1973 and studied at the Danshögskolan (University of Dance) in Stockholm and at the Swedish Ballet School from 1992 till 1995. He worked with the Ismael Ivo Company in 1995. In 1995 Rasmus Ölme joined Ultima Vez and participated in the creation and performance of several Ultima Vez productions until 1998. In 1998 he took part in the creation and tour of a production by El Ojo de la Faraona, the company of Carmelo Fernández and Juan Benítez, and in 2000 he participated in the creation of a new piece by The Nursery, a group of dancers led by Sam Louwyck. At the end of 2001, he premiered his first production "This is not a test". He has now created his next full-length evening production "l'art de la fuite", produced by vzw sA/REFUG-collective and EL Ojo de la Faraona. Rasmus Ölme teaches classes and workshops in Brussels and Sweden and other international venues.
