Thiago Granato
Thiago Granato (BR) is a Brazilian dance artist who lives and works between Brazil, France and Germany. He has worked as a performer and choreographer since 1998 collaborating with choreographers including Lia Rodrigues, Adriana Grechi, João Saldanha, Cristina Moura, Cristian Duarte, Thelma Bonavita, Mathilde Monnier, Cecília Bengolea and François Chaignaud. His own works include PLANO B (2008) in collaboration with Cristian Duarte, WE ARE NOT SUPERFICIAL, WE LOVE PENETRATION (2008) and TOMBO (2009) in collaboration with Cristian Duarte and Thelma Bonavita. Together with Sandro Amaral, he has developed the ongoing choreographic project BASEMENT which is an open source dance/performance event where a group of artists are invited to give visibility to what usually remains unspoken in public. He is currently working in collaboration with artists Neto Machado, Jefta van Dinther, Lenio Kaklea, Enorà Rivièré and Frederic Gies and with the Festival Contemporâneo de Dança de São Paulo (Brazil). In 2008 he was part of the education project Ex.e.r.ce 08 coordinated by Xavier Le Roy at the Centre Chorégraphique National de Montpellier (France). In 2013 he is a resident artist at Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart.Thiago Granato worked in residency at PACT Zollverein in 2011 and will present his new collaboration with Jefta van Dinther ›This is concrete‹ during PACT’s spring/summer season 2013.
