Im Rahmen der PACT Residency schließen wir an unsere Recherche über kommerzielle Leihmutterschaft in Indien an, die wir 2019 als Gäste des Goethe Instituts Bangalore Max Mueller Bhavan durchführen konnten. Die Lektüre von Sophie Lewis “Full Surrogacy Now” führt uns - abgesehen von den Ungleichheiten des globalen Marktes - zur Leihmutter als einer potentiell utopischen Figur: Hier wird das Muttern ("Mothering") als soziale Praxis erdacht, die unabhängig von Blutsverwandtschaft, der Ausstattung durch einen Uterus oder Gender stattfinden kann.

An Online-Interviewseries with Saša Asentić / Per.Art

Saša Asentić - a recent resident at PACT - is one of the most prominent activists for inclusion in dance. As part of the project ›Europe Beyond Access‹, the artist and founder of the NGO Per.Art (Novi Sad) publishes a new conversation every Friday with artists and colleagues from the fields of contemporary dance, performance and disability arts. 

Krzysztof Honowski: And Now The Screen Is Struck By Lightning / Episode One: Always Is

For our residency at PACT Zollverein we wanted to develop ›And Now The Screen Is Struck By Lightning‹, a piece that we had begun as a live film installation at Tropez Berlin in the Summer of 2019. Here instead is the first part of the lockdown version of this work. The second part will be presented online by Tropez later in the summer.

Boglárka Börcsök: ›The Art of Movement‹

›THE ART OF MOVEMENT‹ is a sensual and insightful film about three elderly dancers from Budapest. Irén, Éva and Ágnes - all between 90 and 100 years old – were once part of the early modern dance movement in Hungary.

Taking on the roles of both dance student and dialogue partner, Boglárka retraces how each of these elderly dancers transformed their lives and movement practices in order to survive the major socio-political changes of the last century.

Split into fractions of micro and macro involvement and influence, our group operated on two levels. We investigated how power moves between different actors in a space designed to encourage participation, and how the space responds to unscripted actors. To what extent is culture already closed and how can it be opened to non-normalized notions of culture?

In ihrer Residenz beschäftigten sich Astrid Kaminski (freie Journalistin und Publizistin), Tabea Magyar (Lyrikerin), Anna Nowicka (Tänzerin, Pädagogin und Psychologin), Sarah De Sanctis (Autorin und Übersetzerin) und Seda Niğbolu (freie Journalistin und Übersetzerin) mit den Schnittstellen von Körper, Bild und Text.

HARTMANNMUELLER

In der Recherchezeit für ›Der allerallerallerletzte Tanz (AT)‹ widmen sich HARTMANNMUELLER und die drei Performer*innen Marie Lena Kaiser, Thilo Graus und Rodolfo Piazza Pfitscher da Silva der Figur des Clowns. Davon ausgehend dass der Clown die Fähigkeit besitzt, Realitäten zu spiegeln und dem Gegenüber vorzuhalten, erforschen sie die Mittel, mit denen der Clown diese Wirkungen erreicht.

After working extensively on my own interpretation of 'serpentine dances’ by Loie Fuller, the departure point for the new solo performance is the body of work by Simone Forti. Her works consist of sculptures (construction pieces), sound environments, game like structures, as well as notes on animals in captivity.

Tim Behren / Overhead Project

Das Ineinandergreifen von  (Raum-) Geometrie und Politik steht in der künstlerischen Arbeit der Kompanie Overhead Project momentan im Vordergrund: Welche Rolle spielen Architektur und räumliche Anordnungen im politischen Kontext und wie beeinflussen sie gesellschaftliche „Machtstrukturen“? Wie können diese Beobachtungen choreographisch-dramaturgisch für einen performativen Raum, der die klassische Passiv-Anordnung der Zuschauenden auflöst, umgesetzt werden und somit ein offenes Feld für die Interaktion zwischen Performer*innen und Publikum schaffen.
