In her new production Mette Ingvartsen continues her exploration of staging perceptions and sensations of nature. Her interest in fictionalizing and choreographing natural phenomena started in 2009 with ›Evaporated Landscapes‹. In ›The Artificial Nature Project‹ materials and objects fly through the air creating a landscape in constant transformation. A seemingly peaceful panorama develops in seconds into energetic chaos; a flood wave becomes a storm of confetti whirling through the air, rushing over the stage. Amidst a tumult of thick and thin, light and heavy, fragile and resilient objects the eight performers are but the human part of a complex choreography which blurs the distinctions between animate and inanimate and rapidly alters our perception.
