Built to Last
- Performance Dance
In her latest work ›Built to Last‹ multiple award winning choreographer, Meg Stuart, confronts five performers with overwhelming works of classical and contemporary music which have virtually all significantly influenced the history of music in terms of both technique and content.
Driven by the music of Rachmaninoff, Beethoven, Iannis Xenakis, Meredith Monk and Arnold Schoenberg, amongst others, the dancers and actors, as if being carried away by a time-machine, are forced to deal with constantly changing situations and states of consciousness. While their on stage journey denies logical description, their encounter with the music gradually exposes something that Meg Stuart repeatedly visits in her work - glimpses of the condition humaine or man’s secret desires.
