Disabled Theater
- German premiere of the theatre version. Ruhrtriennale performance
- Performance Dance
Jérôme Bel created his performance ›Disabled Theater‹ with actors with learning disabilities from Zurich's Theater HORA. »Their disabilities«, according to Bel, »are a living infiltration of theater and dance«. The performers share with the audience their own perception of time, singular physicality and acute sensitivity. Bel's challenge in this work lies in opening up a space where disability is not expelled from visual and discursive practices nor screened behind political correctness, but rather integrated in a discourse with both aesthetic and political dimensions.
