Noé Soulier
Faits et gestes
- Uraufführung
- Performance Dance
In ›Faits et gestes‹ young French choreographer Noé Soulier continues to explore the ways in which we perceive and interpret movements by opening up a captivating discourse around how gestures can transmit the feeling of movement to the spectator or create dialogues within the very medium of physical movement. Drawing on diverse skill sets and techniques, he questions the different status we attribute to movements such as practical actions, abstract choreographic phrases or fully articulated sentences, and how these in effect help us to trigger and reconfigure experiences. Inspired in part by Baroque composition patterns, Soulier’s work for four dancers is set to music by the German composers Johann Sebastian Bach and Johan Jakob Froberger and draws parallels to their attempts to create musical rhetoric.
