As part of our ›friendly takeover‹ series we’re delighted to welcome the Centre national de la Danse (Paris) with a special edition of ›Scènes du Geste‹ a remarkable performance event, commissioned by the CND Paris and the Festival d'Automne, that revisits a constellation of artistic practices that have shaped dance and choreography today. Conceived by Christophe Wavelet and informed by artists, dramaturges and dance experts from all over Europe, the evening comprises a unique programme of solos and duets created by distinguished choreographers across time. In combination with rarely heard works of music performed live by the renowned Cologne based Ensemble Musikfabrik as well as diverse historic film footage, ›Scènes du Geste‹ is a tribute to some truly great artistic achievements that continue to inspire and challenge contemporary thinking.
