Tine van Aerschot
We are not afraid of the dark
- German premiere
- Performance Performance
In 2009 actress Tracy Wright was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Even so she decided to continue working for as long as she could and set off on an adventure with Tine Van Aerschot that they called ›We are not afraid of the dark‹.This performance is the result of many conversations about different forms of fear, combined with literary examples of surviving in inhospitable circumstances. The performance is not about Tracy’s cancer, her illness or her death; rather it is an exercise in survival. ›We are not afraid of the dark‹ is a monologue for one performer, American Diane Gaidry, and two ghosts, the pre-recorded voices of Claire Marshall (Forced Entertainment) and Don McKellar (director, actor, author and Tracy Wright’s husband).
