WIR WERDEN ALL DAS VERMISSEN, WAS WIR NICHT BRAUCHEN
- World premiere
- Performance Dance
Vera Mantero, Portugal’s leading contemporary choreographer, approached the creation of her new piece ›Wir werden all das vermissen, was wir nicht brauchen‹, as if she were making a movie: the writing, filming, editing and re-filming become processes of writing and reading in words and images, of acts of illustration on the bodies of the dancers, of transfer and (re-) composition. Thus text is transformed into powerful, touching movement.
»We must always keep in mind the essential authors of the 20th century, not because we should imitate them, […] but because, in a certain aspect, we continue to be alike: they also created works in a time in which it was already said that works were no longer possible«. Peter Sloterdijk in: ›Sun and Death‹
