Under the label Polymer DMT, the Taiwan-born director and choreographer Fang Yun Lo has been collaborating with artists from various disciplines on artistic formats since 2011. Following her first intimate works in the field of contemporary dance theatre, Fang Yun Lo’s artistic focus has expanded in recent years to include (semi-) documentary theatre projects, discursive formats, film and media, and dance for young audiences. Polymer DMT's productions, typically developed through extensive research and in co-production with partner institutions in Germany, Taiwan, and worldwide, are grounded in the fundamental exchange between Asia and Europe. Recurring themes are questions of identity, transculturality and the culture of remembrance. The emphasis lies on individual people’s stories, particularly within the realm of coexistence among those from diverse cultural and societal backgrounds. Polymer DMT is based in Essen and Dresden, Germany, as well as in Taichung, Taiwan.
